Margaret Chilinda

Margaret Chilinda is a Malawian environmental consultant, researcher and youth climate advocate with a strong background in climate change adaptation, environmental compliance, energy access and biodiversity conservation. She holds a BSc in Natural Resource Management (Land and Water) from the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources and is currently pursuing advanced research and professional development across climate governance, clean energy transitions and GIS applications in disaster preparedness and ecosystem restoration.
Margaret has contributed to regional and international research initiatives including Oxford Net Zero and the Re-Earth Initiative. She is also engaged with the Spatial Girls Network, promoting the use of drones and GIS among young women for climate resilience. Her recent work focuses on equitable decarbonization pathways, environmental impact assessments and tools for evidence-based policy in Africa’s sustainability space.
Her passion lies in bridging science, community and policy to foster inclusive climate solutions, especially across vulnerable and coastal communities. She brings to PATNA a commitment to collaborative, Africa-centred research aimed at strengthening maritime governance and advancing the blue economy. Margaret is a member of various professional networks including ISAI, NYCCN, Green Girls Platform, YOUNGO, GYBN, Women in Green Hydrogen and SDG7 Youth Constituency.
