Ademuni-Odeke is a British Academic and Professor of International Maritime Law and Policy, Ankara University; and Special Advisor to the National Centre for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM), Department of Maritime Law, Faculty of Law, University of Ankara. He returned to academia after a career in industry, consultancy and the United Nations. He teaches, researches and has written extensively on the Law of International Trade, Insurance of Export Trade, Piracy, the Blue Economy, Maritime Security and International Shipping Law and Policy. He holds an LLM in Maritime Law and a PhD in International Maritime Law and Policy from the Institute of Maritime Law, Faculty of Law. University of Southampton; has been a Visiting Professorship at several universities including the World Maritime University (WMU) and the Institute of Maritime Law (IMLI); and was a Lloyd’s of London Insurance Research Fellow and UK/US Fulbright Scholar and Visiting Professor at the Admiralty Law Institute, Maritime Law Centre, Tulane Law School, New Orleans, USA. A Member of several international and professional organizations, he has organized and addressed several international conferences, symposium, seminars and workshops.
